Function

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for the global operational management (sites in Belgium and France) of the monitoring of deliveries of families of materials (parts or assemblies) manufactured by suppliers and partners. You will establish long-term relationships with these suppliers so that mutual objectives can be achieved. You will also be responsible for monitoring suppliers to ensure that they comply with the defined production methods and quality processes.

Your responsibilities are as follows :

Group Suppliers & Partners Development (Belgium, France) :

  • Regularly visit suppliers' production sites to verify their production methods and quality processes
  • Interface with suppliers' engineering, manufacturing, logistics and procurement departments as well as the respective internal AS departments to drive cost effective manufacturing process improvements
  • Perform supplier performance assessment and follow-up to identify risks and opportunities for supplier development, in areas such as reduction of lead time, cost, quality and supply/capacity risks
  • Assess and evaluate the manufacturing and logistics processes of potential new suppliers in the selection phase with internal stakeholders to ensure a successful transfer of work (make or buy) and deliver the Quality Business Award
  • Coordinate supplier (re)sourcing activities in partnership with the Purchasing department
  • Monitor deviations due to suppliers and partners
  • Require suppliers to carry out a root cause analysis (5Why, 8D) and a risks analysis of the manufacturing process
  • Attend to some design reviews for current and new products with Marketing/R&D/Industrialization/ Production/QC.

Change Management / Continuous Improvement :

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and suppliers the implementation of supply chain changes impacting assigned suppliers (parts design changes, subcontracting, transfers, resourcing, etc.).
  • Lead internal continuous improvement projects such as purchasing process improvements with the Purchasing Manager.

Profile

  • Engineer or Master's degree in a technical field (electromechanics)
  • At least 5 years' proven experience as a supplier development and management engineer in an industrial environment
  • Thorough knowledge and interest in industrial manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and familiarity with project management tools and ISO 9001
  • Expertise with quality problem-solving tools and Lean standards (SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, 5 Why, Six Sigma, Lean Management)
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and ability to adapt to digital tools
  • Analytical skills: factual approach and attention to detail
  • Fluent in French and English (min. B2)
  • You are prepared to travel abroad regularly for short periods.

  • Well-organized, you have a rigorous mind for analysis and synthesis
  • You enjoy working in an environment that gives you full responsibility and encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
